Not sure whether this appeared in our local 80 cents piece of shit or not (omg they raised the price?!?), but there’s this little bit going around the internet about this UF student who was tasered at a John Kerry forum. John Kerry for those not in the know is this wash-out from the previous USA election who lost the election to Bush. (Why is he still in politics??) Anyway this piece reeks of police brutality and violation of an individuals right to freedom of speech and being suitably outraged i decided to do some research on it.
What i found instead was a drama queen who, when there wasn’t enough time to take questions, cut the line and barged up to the mic, didn’t ask any pertinent questions and instead went on a disorganised diatribe about the last election, impeaching Bush and some secret society that John Kerry and Bush were in (Yes that last bit is particularly interesting – Skull and Bones ) And when they cut the mic off because he was going nowhere and attempted to escort him out of the theatre he resisted and then was tasered on his shoulder, screaming like the qualified pansy he is, and then arrested. Now that last bit i find somewhat disagreeable, cos One he already had 6 police officers surrounding him. Two i don’t think there’s reasonable grounds for an arrest here. Three the taser is a dangerous instrument that has caused death before, and to be used as such in a forum of free speech, sets a dangerous precedent for it to not only be used as an alternative to deadly force, but for it to also be used as a tool for political suppression.
But all this is negated by the fact that he’s a douchebag. So enjoy this short video i found

- personal grouse…the colors look ugly.
Is it that you are working – or even playing – too hard? Because it would seem that you are experiencing a great deal of pent-up emotion at this time which could possibly take effect and lead to irrational behaviour. ( i thrive and feast on irrational behaviour)
You are a very warm and emotional individual but unfortunately in the past too many people have taken advantage of this sensitive trait. You need aesthetic surroundings, or an equally sensitive and understanding partner with whom to share a warm understanding. (warm, hot, sweaty and sticky understanding yea….)
All the problems that you have been experiencing of late seem to have become a part of your life and there is little that can be done to change the situation. Your emotions run high – but even though you feel as if at times you are about to burst this situation will pass. Try to release your pent-up emotions by participating in some extra physical activities like running, swimming, whatever. There must be some favourite pastime, not necessarily strenuous, that can help you to relax. (you don’t wanna know what it is…)
Stresses resulting from a recent disappointment have led to considerable trepidation. It would seem that there seems to be so much left undone. Everything surrounds you with that air of uncertainty. You badly need to feel a sense of security and whatever it takes to protect you against further disappointment. At this particular time you doubt that things could be any better in the future but you are sticking to your guns and refusing to take advice from any source. (this i don’t get. i don’t feel particularly dissapointed.)
At this time you don’t particularly like yourself. Everything that you have tried to do seems to have gone wrong. This makes you feel that there is no point in trying to start again. Apart from being stressed and tense, you are angry with yourself and have unadmitted self-contempt. Your refusal to admit that you and you alone is the basic cause of your problems leads to you adopting a headstrong and defiant attitude. If you take stock of yourself, smile a little and let go, everything will turn out OK. Have you not heard of the cliche ’smile and the world smiles with you – cry and you cry alone!’? ( this part makes me want to buy a gun and shoot myself…if it were true)
this may have been a tad more accurate…if i didn’t randomly pick colors after choosing the black blue and red..
hmm so its better than your avg horoscope. fun? yea.

I should be studying.
Instead i’m surfing the web strengthening my belief in my new religion – THE INVISIBLE PINK UNICORN.
For more reading on the parody religions Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Invinsible Pink Unicorn go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_Pink_Unicorn. Both of them illustrate the point that it is simply ridiculous for the onus to be on the sceptic to prove that God doesn’t exist…because both these parody religions have an equal claim to legitimacy as any religion which calls you to believe in a god which cannot be seen. this of course reverses my earlier view that because i cannot prove that god doesn’t exist, i won’t question other’s people’s belief.
I used to have a certain admiration for the ignorant faithful because i could never be so steadfast in my beliefs (which i believe is somewhat linked to my very diminished sense of self-esteem which was inherited itself from a very dysfunctional childhood). But now i realise how absurd they all sound. And i realise its akin to admiring the boy who lives in his mother’s basement(ok i know we don’t have basements). They walk the line their parents inculcated in them never veering from the path that was set out for them and ultimately living a boring and closeted existence.
I believe i can be as morally upright as them without having to live in fear/dependence of a god whose moral system dictates their own. I believe that only through then can i really know what it is to be kind and how to appreciate kindness. I believe that i don’t need to live my life through a third party.
And in that way i’m stronger than them.

2nd entry made at the same time but now with more fruitiness!
So i have been doing my fair bit of surfing…not at work cos i haven’t figured out how to hack net access yet, and have added a few links.
laura: i have no idea what shes rambling about…but umm..more power anyways?
people who are overseas: you have to realise that we poor lot in singapore..have no tools at our discretion to imagine the experiences your describing. which is why photos are nice yes. nudity is always a bonus. and theres a thing called youtube now, no?
sigh seriously though why do i even bother
digg: this is a website when people submit stories….and viewers vote whether they like it or not.
Typically the stories that get the most “diggs” are listed here in order of popularity : Celebrity Sex Videos/Nude Shots, Any News About PS3/XBOX360/WII (it attracts the fanboys), US POLITICS, Some Technological Marvel”
Best thing about this website- its good for a 10 min dose of entertainment… its updated by the min but usually viewers will already have filter out the junk each day..leaving you with 10 mins of pure ROFLific laughter. Its at least a bookmark, if not a daily visit.
Jon-Stewart: Funniest guy on american tv now. His gig “The Daily Show” pokes fun at the absurdities of the american politcal system and for now at least the war in iraq. he has archives of the past week show and sometimes i search the archives in youtube for more. His humour is usualy of the deadpan sarcasm variety- the sort i love, but sometimes when the pickings are slim, he resorts to frat boy sexist jokes. Still funny if you take it at face level for what is.
One of his gems:
Leader of the evangelical network of america resigns as he admits to sex with gay and trying drugs: “You know you have sunk to a new low…when you lose the moral high ground… to the gay drug-dealing hooker” Priceless

Ginji’s site of the Month: proudly brought to you by Ginji. YaY! CLAP CLAP.
www.pandora.com – the best thing since sliced bread. and then some. basically it takes in the name of an artist you like and then plays you back other music from artists that have the same musical qualities as the artist you like, from this musical database called the MUSIC GENOME PROJECT, which classifies songs according to the “genes” they have, like “melodic phrasing”, “minor key tonalities”, For eg i fed in m2m, my fav most underrated band and got back music from delta goodrem, aimee mann and meredith brooks(i feel vinicated) . I tried britney spears and got back trash from jump5 , christina aguilera, janet jackson and myra(?). So yea this site gets my two thumbs up, way up! Sadly it only has english artists inside. Oh and you have to input a valid US zip code for it to work (search online).

Ok i have a new online addiction: Sudoku!http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/sudoku/play.php
Its this brutal japanese puzzler thats eats your brain cells for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The thing is on easy difficulty it starts off quite simple enough but as the difficulty ramps up you have to use your own logic to solve through the puzzles…and sudoku forces you to develop your own techniques as you go along. You literally learn how to fill in the blanks yourself. As the difficulty ramps up the numbers they give you get lesser and lesser, they get more similar and the areas for guesswork gets bigger and bigger. I started off having to use a lot of guesswork cos i would reach a point where there were 2 possible numbers and i’ll just follow the path of one of the numbers until it eventually falls apart but those situations are getting lesser and lesser
Its supposedly quite popular worldwide but hey i’m still a n00bie..

While i was reading this book called “Secrets of Angels and Demons” , i came across this passage in the book which highlighted similarities in the painting of the Creation of Adam and the cross section of the human brain. Turns out that Michelangelo frequently dissected human bodies and was quite familiar with the anatomy of the human brain.

The rest of the book highlights the conflicts between religion and science (predominantly the Catholic Church, the largest organised religion). However it also talks about how Dan Brown bullshits his way through the technology in the book (and some of it is really quite perposterous), and how little of what he says is really true…
